Don’s Mom

The mother of the best economist I know passed away on this day in 2008. The tribute he penned to her a decade a go is timeless, and most inspiring.

I’m proud say that Don Boudreaux and I share much the same views on what makes this world of ours go round. I wonder how much of that has to do with the influence of our respective mothers; as the woman he describes reminds me so much of my own dearly departed mom.

I owe much of my understanding of economics to Don’s books, articles, blog posts and our direct communication over the years. He is truly unique among the world’s economists…

I know many of you will appreciate this: My Mom
